ActiveHud is recruiting enthusiastic, inclusive, and committed Lead Activators and Assistant Activators to support its Social Sport programme. We are looking for Activators to support in the following social sports: Badminton, Basketball, Tapeball Cricket, Volleyball and Futsal.
Our Activators ensure ALL students have the opportunity to access, take part in and enjoy recreational physical activity in a social setting.
As Lead Activator you will be the primary facilitator of your sessions, responsible for planning, monitoring attendance, promoting an inclusive environment, and getting everyone in your session active! Lead Activators are also responsible for mentoring Assistant Activators, supporting their development and ensuring a consistent approach to the delivery of Social Sport activities.
As an Assistant Activator you will be supporting delivery of Social Sport activities, assisting planning, administration and covering sessions where necessary.
By volunteering with ActiveHud, you will develop sport and physical activity industry skills that will help prepare you for your future career, whilst providing fun and enjoyable sessions for, and with, your student community.
Benefits of being an Activator or Assistant Activator include:
· ActiveHud Activator Bursary for NGB and/or activity related qualifications and development
· Activator Kit
· ActiveHud Mentor Support
· Becoming a member of our Activator Community Network
· A bespoke development plan specific to you and your future ambitions
If you would like to become an ActiveHud Activator, please email ActiveHud, activehud@hud.ac.uk a copy of your CV and a supporting statement evidencing how you meet the criteria in the Person Specification below. Kindly add your student number and the job role in the email subject line. Within the email, please include which sport you wish to apply as an activator for. You do not need any prior qualification to apply, however, it is desirable to have a knowledge of your preferred Activator area.
Successful applicants will be expected to commit an average of 1.5 to 3 hours per week to their Activator area. Becoming an Activator or Assistant Activator is a great way to complete any placement hours, GPA electives, or other volunteering hours you may need as part of your studies.
If you have any further questions or queries, please contact Matt Ashford at m.w.ashford@hud.ac.uk. Best of luck!
