Volunteering Roles
Volunteering at University is a great way to enhance your University experience. It provides you with a great opportunity to meet new people and develop your skills all whilst supporting some of the amazing work ActiveHud do to improve student experience.
ActiveHud Activator
ActiveHud are recruiting enthusiastic, inclusive, and committed Lead Activators and Assistant Activators to support our Social Sport programme. We are looking for Activators to support in the following social sports: Badminton, Basketball, Tapeball Cricket, Volleyball, Netball and Futsal.
Our Activators ensure that ALL students have the opportunity to access, take part in and enjoy our FREE Social Sport programme, aimed to help more students get more active more often.
As an Activator you will help facilitate your session, monitoring attendance, promoting an inclusive environment, and getting everyone in your session active!
By volunteering with ActiveHud, you will develop sport and physical activity industry skills that will help prepare you for your future career, whilst providing fun and enjoyable sessions for, and with, your student community.
Benefits of being an Activator include:
- Activator Kit
- ActiveHud Activator support to complete a relevant Level 1 or 2 NGB qualification (for example England Netball Level 1) and/or activity related qualifications and development*
- ActiveHud Mentor Support
- Become a member of our Activator Community Network
- Gain key employability skills, such as time management, organisation, communication and leadership skills
- Career support: LinkedIn recommendations, CV, cover letter writing workshops and interview practice
- A bespoke development plan specific to you and your future ambitions
- Free varsity ticket
*Achieved after 60 hours of volunteering
By committing from as little as 2 hours per week, you could help ActiveHud achieve their goal of getting more students, more active, more often.
You do not need any prior qualifications, but it would be desirable to have a knowledge of your preferred Activator activity.
Becoming an Activator is a great way to complete any placement hours, GPA electives, or other volunteering hours you may need as part of your studies.
